SOCHIMI

The Chilean Society of Intensive Medicine (SOCHIMI) is a non-profit scientific teaching. The Company is located in Providencia, in the Metropolitan Region the Province of Santiago.

The objectives of the Society are the following:

Bring together doctors and professionals related to Critical Patient Care Units across the country for the unification of diagnostic criteria and therapies designed for this type of medicine;

Promote the scientific, educational, and operational development of the different units;

Promote and encourage courses and programs aimed at training, improvement, updating, and continuous training in Intensive Medicine;
04
Organize, carry out, and promote congresses, conferences, seminars, and related meetings aimed at promoting the development and improvement of this type of medicine;

Establish the criteria for the recognition and reaccreditation of "Intensive Medicine Specialist" before the respective bodies;

Propose, advise, and collaborate with training entities in the preparation, execution, and improvement of programs aimed at training and development of specialists in this area, as a way of ensuring homogeneous training;

Promote the scientific publication that represents the thought of the Society;

Recommend to the corresponding body the minimum requirements for the operation of Critical Care Units and advise on their equipment;

Advise and form working groups with the Ministry of Health on issues relevant to the diagnosis and treatment of the main critical pathologies;
10
Advise the Medical College on union issues related to the specialty.
